Gertrudis Blues is a documentary invoking the character of Gertrudis Vázquez, a woman over 80 years old, known for her strength, her lucidity and her kindness. It depicts remembrances and cultural events that occurred long ago but are still present in the spirit and in the memories of this matriarch, who is a member of the Mascogo, a unique community with afro-mestizo roots, living in a village named El Nacimiento, in Múzquiz, Coahuila, Mexico.
